COLETTE CONDORCITA SCHMITT

Ecologist | Activist | Coach | Psychedelic Healthcare Leader

How a teenage wrestling injury accidentally turned me into a shamanic healer with a neuroscience obsession.
Spoiler alert: sometimes the universe has weird ways of showing you your path.

When she was fourteen years old, Colette had a premonitive dream that she would be seriously injured. Not long after, she broke her neck while competing in a wrestling match on her high school team, and was paralyzed from the neck down. At the time of her injury, she had an out-of-body experience that was the same vision as her dream from weeks before. The doctors told her family she had a two percent chance of recovery.

During her 4 months of recuperating in the hospital, Colette developed a technique of quieting her conscious mind and using what she now understands to be self-directed neuroplasticity to reactivate sensation and movement in her body. She astounded doctors, defeated the odds, and eventually walked out of the hospital. As Colette recovered, she began having access to visionary states of consciousness that many use psychedelics to achieve. Integrating and understanding these changes to her nervous system was difficult and overwhelming.

Being neurodivergent, Colette has dedicated her life and career to understanding consciousness and the healing faculties latent within. After receiving her BA in International Relations and International Development, she became fascinated with understanding better ecological development models focused on regenerative agriculture and permaculture, and how humans can live harmoniously within the natural ecosystem (including our individual ecosystems, collective ecosystems, and ecological systems).

Colette’s journey led her to study and work in ecological design, permaculture, environmental activism, organic farming, and herbalism with Indigenous and rural communities in Southeast Asia, Australia, and Africa. The more she learned, the more she felt an intense connection with the natural world and how human consciousness can build direct connections with it.

Fascinated and armed with the certainty that the mind is capable of immense healing, she set out to learn all she could about hypnotherapy, traditional healing, and the deeper systems of studying nature as a life path. As she deepened her knowledge of entheogens and the energetics of plants, Colette expanded her studies in Neuro-Linguistic Programming, integrative hypnotherapy, and practical neuroscience.

Colette is the founder of Neurodelics, a neurodiversity-informed, AI-powered digital platform for psychedelic users and those in need of mental health support, education, and regulation, as well as Decriminalize Nature Philadelphia, a registered 501-C4 working to decriminalize entheogens in Philadelphia by passing a resolution at the city level.

Collective Healing Through Social Justice Action

Growing up with Quaker social justice activists for parents, fighting for what's right is literally in my DNA. We all heal together or nobody really heals. When I founded, Decriminalize Nature Philadelphia, it wasn't about making psychedelics trendy for rich white folks. It was about stopping the criminalization that's been destroying communities, especially communities of color, for way too long. Community-based healing is most important, and my mission is to bridge gaps in the mental health care industry, advocate for the needs of neurodivergent and neuroqueer people, integrate balance perspectives on modern medicine and ancient traditions, and do my part to fight systemic injustices.

THE MEANING OF CONDOR MEDICINE

Condorcita Web Design.zip - 12.PNG

A type of vulture native to the Andean mountains, the condor lives its life literally “on the edge” of rocky cliffs and is often considered awkward or ugly, but the essence of the condor is survival, transformation and ascension. Condors thrive in difficult, high-altitude conditions; they are active participants in nature’s systems of rebirth; and they soar up to 15,000 feet, communing directly with the cosmos.

The condor is also a potent symbol of the feminine archetype. Condors bring softness, sunlight and warmth from the south to harmonize with the colder, masculine energy of the north, represented by the eagle. Ancient prophecies from the Americas foretold a time when the condor and eagle would be united, and the divine feminine would regain its rightful place alongside the masculine. This energetic restructuring would restore the earth after five hundred years of colonialism and violence. That time is now.

Colette calls her practice Condor Medicine as the culmination of her work and studies—from her experience healing complete paralysis to connecting with nature as a regenerative designer and permaculture teacher to her training in hypnosis, quantum healing, and the power of self-directed neuroplasticity. Colette feels that all of us are capable of achieving great transformation, to heal our pain from the past and achieve our wildest dreams.
